Meet the New Goat Care Giver

Amy Garza
The goats in the test (n=81) and study (n=30) are checked once or twice daily and pertinent information is recorded in a daily log. This year's goat care giver is Amy Garza.

Amy is a student at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. She is majoring in Environmental Sciences, with a concentration in Resource Management.

Amy has lived on a farm for over 23 years. She has raised sheep, goats, cows, and horses. She is a 4-H leader in Jefferson County, West Virginia, and was a 4-H member growing up.

Amy was also active in FFA while in high school. She received her American degree. The American FFA degree is awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences.

In addition to her daily responsibilities, Amy will be doing an internship towards completion of her degree. Her internship will involve the test and study goats.
