Notes from the Test Site

Before Rain

The past 12 days have seen many changes at the test site. Sweltering 100 degree heat started this time period, then we experienced several days of cool, wet weather, and now back to the sweltering heat again. The good news is that sufficient rainfall was received to give the pastures a spurt of new growth which turned everything green again.

After Rain

A round bale of hay was put out for the goats 10 days ago. The herd didn't pay much attention to it, until its value as a play structure became obvious to them. There's not much eating, but lots of climbing and jumping for recreation breaks.

What else is new??.......Well, it's that time of year.................

The 'boys' somehow managed to open the side of the 'Billy Buster' handling unit. Someone must be hiding an opposable thumb! They just can't wait until their next weigh-in day on August 30!-->

We have lots of good goat fun here!

Good-bye for now.
