Lexie Simmons is the new care giver for the bucks in the Western Maryland Pasture-Based Meat Goat Performance Test.
This fall, Lexie will be a senior at Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, Maryland. She is active in both 4-H and FFA. Her family shows cattle, swine, and goats.
Lexie plans to pursue a career in agriculture. Last year, her brother worked at the research center.
Lexie will check, feed, and water the goats on a daily basis. She will record pertinent data in a log book. Lexie will also help work the goats every two weeks.
