"How the goat industry can benefit from NSIP" is the title of a webinar given by Dr. Ken Andries on May 8. The webinar is part of an on-going 6-part series on the National Sheep Improvement Program (NSIP).
NSIP is a genetic evaluation tool for sheep and goat producers. It calculates EBV's or "estimated breeding values." An EBV estimates the genetic worth of an animal.
Ken Andries is an animal geneticist and goat extension specialist at Kentucky State University. He started the Goat Herd Improvement Program (GHIP) which helps producer utilize on-farm performance records.
