Individual fecal samples collected on July 3rd have been analyzed by Delaware State University. Egg egg counts ranged from 0 to 1,300 eggs per gram and averaged 180 epg. Only five goats had FEC over 500 epg. Nineteen goats had fecal samples in which no worm eggs were observed.
We're still waiting for the results of the larval development assay (LDA) which will tell us the mixture of worm infection on July 3rd. The pooled fecal sample had a FEC of 300 epg.
These low egg counts, combined with good FAMACHA© scores should allow the goats to make some meaningful weight gains.
