Like most of the rest of the country, Maryland is very HOT! It's likely we'll set some heat records this week. The record high temperature for Keedysville is 103°F, recorded in 1991. The normal high is 88°F. The forecast for today is 98°.
A very hot airmass centered in the Tennessee Valley will drift slowly eastward today and Thursday, and the heat wave affecting the area with dangerously high daytime heat indices will continue through Thursday afternoon. High temperatures around 100°, combined with high humidity will cause heat indices to rise to 110 to 115° this afternoon. Temperatures and heat indices will be a couple of degrees cooler Thursday afternoon.
